Dear Friends,
Season’s Greetings!! I am honored and have great
pride in serving the Greater Washington Malayalee
community this year.
The world is an increasingly interconnected place, busy
with mobility and rapid change. Families are relocating,
immigrants are settling in, and rural areas and
industrial towns are being transformed through global
economic shifts. A sense of community is not something
many of us can take for granted anymore. In this
context, KAGW is committed to help people to remember
and celebrate their shared experiences, traditions,
identities, struggles, and aspirations.
KAGW has been serving the Washington – Baltimore
Malayalee community for last 35 years by working towards
binding the community together by promoting and
preserving their identities, traditions, and values. By
providing public programs through which cultural
heritage can be shared, KAGW has always been a leader in
building bridges between groups and community as well.
We have firmly established intentions to serve community
in this way, and these purposes are a foundation for our
far-reaching programs and experiences working in the
public sphere to benefit community.
Like the previous years, we have planned many
interesting and diverse programs for people of all ages
this year too and dates are published in advance. Please
check out the dates in a 2010 KAGW calendar OR visit
this web page:
http://www.kagw.com/currentevents.htm. Also,
keep checking this web site
http://www.kagw.com for frequent
updates. In the past years, KAGW has received boundless
support and great encouragement from each one of you.
The 2010 executive committee is counting on your
continued support and participation in all our
activities. Please feel free to write to me at
secretary@kagw.com with your concerns and compliments
alike.
Looking forward to work with you closely,
Thank you,
Shaju Sivabalan
Secretary, KAGW |
