Dear friends,
As in previous years, KAGW will be releasing its annual
magazine for 2010 during the Onam celebrations. We hope
to make it as colorful and as comprehensive as possible,
with the help of all of you.
In keeping with the theme of inclusion and openness, we
strive to include in the magazine not only articles, but
short-stories, poems, cartoons or any other forms of
literature that we receive. And with that, we would like
to encourage members of KAGW community to come forward
and contribute in this undertaking. The material can be
in English or Malayalam. There are no specific topics or
subjects, but it can fall into the following categories:
Culture, Politics, Health and Wellness, Home and Food,
Entertainment, and Humor, to name a few. Also, please
note that this is not restricted to those in the Metro
D.C. area, but to also those outside of the D.C. area
and contributors in Kerala. So, we encourage all of you,
wherever you are, to contribute to this magazine and
help us create one original, entertaining and well
represented magazine.
We especially encourage students and those who have
interest in journalism or writing to take advantage of
this opportunity to have your work officially published.
The same goes for those aspiring novelists or literary
enthusiasts.
This year we are also striving to have an e-newsletter
once a month. The objective of this newsletter is to
keep you plugged in with the local Malayalee events.
I would also like to take this opportuinity to introduce
to you the Editorial team. The team this year consists
of Asha Haridas, Nidhin Kadavil, Sohna Kunnath and
Denesh Malaveetil.
I look forward to working with all of you on the 2010
magazine and other KAGW activities.
Regards,
Arun Joe Zachariah.
