Hi Everyone,

KAGW is one of the trailblazing organizations for Malayalees in the Greater Washington area. It is such a great honor to be the editor of KAGW this year.

Over the past decade, Kerala Community has grown tremendously in the nation’s capital. With that growth, myriad of talents have been added to the ‘Malayalee fabric’ in this area. Anyone who observes KAGW’s various celebrations or Talent Time competitions can vouch for this.

Malayalees have always appreciated good art, whether it is Cinema, Music, Literature or some other art form. We still remember ‘Chemmeen’ so fondly after all these years. We cherish the poem ‘Mambazham’ like no other. We talk about O.N.V and M.T with such reverence. Wherever we are, we cannot forget our art and culture.

Once again, KAGW wants to encourage the artistic talents of our community members through the KAGW magazine as well as through the monthly newsletter. It is a great avenue to publish your poem on the nostalgic feeling about the backwaters or a short story you always wanted to write about your childhood friend. How about your expatriate angst and the parallel lives of your present in a foreign country and your past in India? This is also an opportunity for our young budding artists to showcase their literary talents.

KAGW magazine is a great medium to get to communicate to the vast majority of the Malayalee community in the Washington area. As such, it will be an excellent way to advertise your products or businesses to Malayalees.

Along with me, this year’s editorial team is Nirar Basheer and Rajkumari Menon.

It is time to tap into your hidden talents!
