2010 Planned Events
We started the year by coordinating the volunteer
service to the DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) and have the
following events planned for 2010:
a) April 10th & April 17th 2010 – Talent
Time/Vasantholsavam
· April 10 - Arts and Literary Competition
· April 17 - Competitions for songs, Dances and Grand
Finale with Kerala Queen
· Registration begins in February – Contact Preethi

b) May 08, 2010 – Family Night
· An experience teeming with cultural items performed by
local talents. Come prepared to show off your talent
whether it is singing, dancing, acting or mimicry. Both
Solo and Group Performances are welcome. For

c) June 26, 2010 - Youth Athletic Event –
· A day to play! Bring your friends, participate, and
compete in various sports and athletics related events

d) August 21, 2010 - Thiruvona Pulari - 2010
· The most important harvest Festival of
Kerala celebrated with joy by the Kerala community in
the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. For participation

e) September 18, 2010 - KAGW Picnic
· Grand Parents and Parents – Enjoy a day out in the
park with your Kids/ Grand Kids. Filled with Fun
Activities, Grilling, Gossiping and Games. For

f) October 16, 2010 - Cross Roads and Literary Event
· A youth event that focuses two hours on civil affairs
and leadership and a two-hour seminar on "How to prepare
for College Admissions". Open to parents and special
focus on 8th - 12th graders.

g) November 6, 2010 - EID Celebration and Literary Event
· EID Celebrations – Oppana, Mappila Pattukal, Daffu
Muttu by local artists and EID Dinner – Biriyani,

h) December 05, 2010 - Christmas/New Year –
Global celebration with lights, caroling, feasting and
gift giving. Welcoming the New Year. For participation
